The Ferrari 360 GT sports car had a limited production run that ended in 2003 when it was surpassed by the Ferrari 360 GTC, where the "C" stood for competition.

The 360 GTC had its official debut at the Bologna Motor Show in late 2003, and it was delivered until 2004.

It was built to be a considerable power when entered the GT Championship, and it was upheld by Ferrari with the help of Michelotto.

Despite its excellent track performance, the 360 GT struggled against any resemblance of the Porsche 996 GT3, and the GTC was born.

Its weight was reduced from 1100 kg to 1000 kg, and Ferrari benefited from the experience gained during race testing the 360 GT.

The FIA homologated (qualified to race) the GTC based on the quality of the quantity of 360 Challenge Stradale sports vehicles produced, from which it inferred several segments such as the front guard, side skirts, motor spread, and back region.

In light of the 360 GT's race engagement, it combined many adjustments, like as

A sequential six-speed gearbox, which was deemed more appealing and faster in race circumstances than the 360 GT's F1-style oar move structure.

Further adjustments to the vehicle's ideal design, particularly the back wing, received more development work to generate a shape that created a measurable increase in the amount of down power at the back.

With strong demand for the 360 GT from Ferrari customers, the company decided to make the new GTC accessible for purchase to both new and existing customers.


Even though the motor was still reliant on the FIA requirement for GT racing of two 30.8 mm air restrictions, output was increased from 430 bhp at 8500 rpm with the 360 GT to 472 horsepower at 8750 rpm with the GTC.

With the additional power, the peak speed increased to a remarkable 200 mph, with a 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds.

Fuel consumption was reduced as a result of the increased display of the 3.6-liter V8 engine.

When the air restrictions were removed, the output was dramatically increased, reaching 550 horsepower at 8750 pm.

This reality was brought to light a few years later when a 360 GTC owned by a privateer was entered in head-to-head events, including Sebring and Le Mans, with the car completely tuned and in race trim but without the air restrictions.
